Jakel Powell

Class of 2023 | 3.10 GPA | 24/7 Sports Top 40 | Signed to play at Florida Atlantic University

“I am glad I attended EVA. As a student athlete, having a flexible schedule is important to gain an advantage in your sport. It helps with training, workouts, practices and travel. It also allows students to work at their own pace. If you prefer mornings, nights or weekends to do classes, EVA is a great fit.

My advice to students going the NCAA route is to stay current with assignments and work ahead if possible. Procrastination will bite you mid season if you let it. In the event you fall behind, reach out to your teachers. They will work with you to get you back on track.

In closing, I’m glad I was able to attend EVA the past two years. To my fellow student peers, if you’re going to college, have fun and support the athletic department. I challenge you to get involved with activities and clubs on campus to meet different people. If you’re going into the workforce, I challenge you to watch college sports. Whatever your future endeavors are, I wish you all the best and remember to enjoy life.”

“My experience at EVA was more than what I could ask for! With their assistance I graduated and am getting ready to go off to play division 1 college basketball at Mount St Mary’s University! It’s the ideal situation for any student looking for an online school with teachers that are flexible and mentors that help you as well!”

“EVA and its teachers have been nothing but wonderful in helping me to achieve my goals. Because of them, I am able to achieve one of my goals and take classes I wouldn’t have had time for otherwise. I can’t thank the people at EVA enough for helping me throughout my high school journey and will be forever grateful.”

Class of 2022 | Soccer | Currently plays for Muhlenberg College

“I would absolutely recommend EVA to my peers! With the support you get from teachers and your mentor, as well as the additional practice quizzes and tests available, I’m easily able to learn and understand the material I’m given, and therefore get good grades! EVA is a great way to continue learning, and it’s stress-free too! I recommend EVA for any athlete who needs flexibility, as well as a great education!”

Wyler Mitchell

Class of 2023 | Hockey | Attending career technical school

“I would tell a friend to make sure to do work ahead of time if you are going on a vacation. Also if you get stuck ask for help right away. Don’t wait. These classes are set up so you can go back and do a lesson over if you didn’t understand it. I like listening to the lecture and reading along under the transcript tab. That is what works best for me. That way I hear it and see it at the same time.”

Wyler was honored at our Spring 2023 graduation with an amazing speech:

“Hello classmates, parents, family, friends, school staff, and the fantastic Edgenuity Instructors and mentors. None of us would be here without each of you. Thank you. My name is Wyler Mitchell, and I have attended Edgenuity Virtual Academy (now Imagine Learning Excellence Academy) for the past few years. While I will miss the lessons and staff, I am excited to move on to the next chapter in the Book of Life. I’m a little nervous too. I keep reminding myself that I am no more nervous than when my family and I decided that I would switch to Edgenuity Virtual Academy. The fact that we are graduating today proves we can overcome our nerves and complete a task no matter how big that task may be. We have looked forward to today for so long, probably as far back as we can remember, and now that it is here, let’s slow down and look back for just a moment. Remember yourself as the little child looking up to others. Remember how small we felt at times. Now is our chance to be the one others look up to. Being a role model is a big responsibility, but we have shown we are up for the challenge. We have worked hard and completed our studies independently online. We learned how to prioritize our work and get it completed on time. We had to learn how to contact our instructors for assistance when needed. Many of us have juggled school, work, and sports and did so with success. We have shown we are ready for whatever paths we choose to take from here.

Some of us will go on to play sports, attend college, join the workforce, or even join the military. We all have the potential to be great role models. Always remember someone is looking up to you. We all have the attributes needed to be productive members of our communities. We will face many challenges, but attending Edgenuity Virtual Academy has prepared us to succeed in our chosen paths. Our instructors and Mentors have helped guide us with integrity and with encouragement. Remember to show compassion and understanding to those around us as we continue in life’s journey.

I want to thank all the instructors and mentors who have helped us get here today and our families and friends who have supported us along the way.”

Congratulations, Wyler!
